Flying start for Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Beer Sheva/Dimona

Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Beer Sheva/Dimona had a spectacular win against Levski 2014 to launch the new season 2022-23 of Delasport Balkan League.

The Israeli team nailed the first victory of the season 100-67 and did not leave much doubt of its quality.

BC Levski young team could only match its opponent in the first quarter and then the game slipped through the fingers of the Bulgarian squad.

It was a good offensive performance for both teams in the first quarter which ended 20-16 for Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Beer Sheva/Dimona. Levski closed the gap to 20-19, before being crushed with a 16-0 run by the hosts.

The break came at 45-33, which still left room for the interesting second half. Hapoel came out even better in the third quarter and kept widening the distance from Levski.

The visitors never really recovered after the fall in the second quarter and they had no chance for a comeback.

Hapoel dominated the boards getting 47/30 rebounds, and also forced 20 turnovers.

Russ Smith had a blast with 30 points for 25 mins on the floor, Tomer Porat added 12 points and 8 rebounds.

John Florvious had 23 for Levski and Alan Arnett scored another 17.
