Hapoel Holon holds off Kumanovo in another thriller to go top of Group G

Hapoel Holon had another thrilling win in Group G of Delasport Balkan League after beating KK Kumanovo 2009 by 98-96 at home. Just a few days after overcoming Akademik in overtime, now the Israeli side had another tough outing at home and once again came out victorious. That result puts Hapoel on top of the group and on April 8th will visit Akademik to decide for the first place. For Kumanovo it was the end of the season in the competition but the team will look back with pride and there will be happiness of having played in such way in its last encounter.

After an even first quarter the visitors stepped it up on defense in the second to go up by 8 points at the break. In the second half the teams stayed close as they were exchanging leads as no team could pull away. With less than four minutes to play Miles scored a triple for the hosts to tie the score at 90 but Kumanovo responded to go up once again. Miles added another three-points to restore the advantage of Hapoel and then Livingston was fouled. He missed twice but Djekic grabbed the rebound to score and tie the game. Then Bourdillon scored to put Holon ahead for good and after Livingston made a mistake, the game was over.

Tyrus McGee and Nathan Sestina were the top scorers for the winners with 15 points apiece. Frederic Bourdillon also did well by adding 14 combined with 5 assists and 4 rebounds.

The visitors were led by Otis Livingston who had a great game with 29 points and 14 assists. Branislav Djekic also did very well by adding 20 points and 9 rebounds while four other players scored in double figures for the visitors.
