Hapoel Nufar Energy Galil Elion wins big in Plovdiv

Hapoel Nufar Energy Galil Elion recorded its first win in Stage 2 of Delasport Balkan League. The Israeli side visited Akademik in Plovdiv and had no trouble in winning 84-55. The visitors led from start to finish and left no doubt that they were the much better team that night. It puts them on a 2-2 record while Akademik is now at 1-3 and needs to win its last two remaining games in order to have a chance of advancing. On Monday the team will host Levski in Plovdiv while Hapoel’s next game is on March 30th against the same opponent from today.

The match started perfect for the visitors who wanted to show from the beginning that they had come to erase the bed memories from Prishtina from two days ago. They scored the first 8 points and never gave up the lead after that. As they finished the first quarter on a 16-2 run, Hapoel managed to build a 19-point advantage after just ten minutes and early in the second they increased it even further. They started it on a 15-3 run to take the lead to 31 points and until the end had no problems to control the difference.

Bryce Washington was the top scorer for the winners with 13 points as Ron Cohen and Gabriel Chachashvili had 12 points apiece.

Nikolay Titkov was the top scorer in the game as he was the only one in double figures for the home side scoring 17 points.
